This book is most certainly a book written by an Anglican, for Anglicans, but there definitely is benefit for low-churchmen like myself to listen in on the in-house debate.J.I. Packer summarises some of the current discussions within the Anglican communion regarding the inerrancy, infallibility and most of all the authority of Scripture, and gives his own conservative view in an apologetic/polemic manner.I enjoyed reading it, particularly his section on the canon of scripture. One of my favourite quotes: The church no more gave us the New Testament canon than Sir Isaac Newton gave us the force of gravity. God gave us gravity, by his work of creation, and similarly he gave us the New Testament canon, by inspiring the individual books that make it up. GOD HAS SPOKEN Revelation and the Bible by J.I. Packer
